A Ring of Salt
What do you say to the Devil on
your shoulder?
The one at the foot of your bed
“Hey Satan, what’s up? Wanna get
down?”
Tango through ripped sheets and
pierce pillows
Broken vows and lovers led astray
Stifle moans as tendrils of temptation,
Tease the inside of your thighs,
That moment of shuddering
hesitation.
And after you’ve submitted
To the carnal desire for the
darkness
Bent over to the sultry fallacies,
You’ll cower
Wrap your blackened virgin soul
With the wisps of torn angels’
wings
As He caresses you with sinful
sonnets
That hardens your tears of bleeding
wax,
Forked tongue ravishing your ear
with dulcet poison,
Because everyone knows hell has the
sweetest honey.
